Shortly after 6:45 p.m. on Monday, May 7, investigators from the Yorktown Police Department received a call from Macy’s with a report of an employee who had been detained for a larceny complaint.
Upon arrival at the scene, an investigation by officers found that Peekskill resident Jocelyn Bernard, 19, had allegedly stolen $245 from her employer. She was subsequently arrested and charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
Following processing, Bernard was released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Yorktown Justice Court on June 7 to answer the charge.
